The Morris Mini-Minor was a long running model and stayed in the catalogue until 1972 before getting Whizzwheels and orange or blue paintwork. Prior to that, a maroon edition had been introduced in 1967 to refresh sales. All the examples I have seen to date of the maroon edition have had cast, spoke effect, wheels but here is one with normal wheels. I can only assume that it was one of the very early maroon issue or, perhaps, someone has managed to change them.
The model appears totally genuine and original so I think it must be from a very early production batch and, as such, is really very rare.
The paintwork is excellent, with clear and clean windows, nice interior and sound suspension. The silver paintwork is also excellent with no chips to the bumpers.
